Honoring a Legacy of Care: Dr. Daniel Watson

For more than two decades, Dr. Daniel Watson has been dedicated to providing exceptional, feline-focused veterinary care to the cats and families of College Station. In 2003, Dr. Watson and his wife, Dr. Winterowd, founded College Station Cat Clinic with a shared vision of creating a practice devoted entirely to the unique needs of cats.

Since then, Dr. Watson has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to his work. His veterinary career has included time in emergency clinics, full-service animal hospitals, humane societies, and even a zoo. These varied experiences have helped shape his thoughtful approach to medicine and his deep understanding of animal care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Watson has continued to expand his expertise through advanced training in feline ultrasound, medicine, dentistry, and surgery. Dentistry has been a particular passion and an important part of his professional journey.

Dr. Watson earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, following undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Michigan and Veterinary Science at the University of Illinois.

His commitment to feline health extends beyond the clinic. Dr. Watson has contributed to the veterinary community through published articles in the Sun-Times Chicago Vets on Pets column and has remained an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Feline Practitioners, Feline Health Center, Veterinary Information Network, American Veterinary Medical Association, Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, and Chicago Veterinary Medical Association.

Above all, Dr. Watson is known for his special ability to connect with cats. His calm approach, genuine compassion, and dedication to understanding each patient have earned him the trust of generations of cats and their families.

Today, Dr. Watson’s vision continues to be an important part of College Station Cat Clinic. His commitment to feline medicine, lifelong learning, and compassionate care has helped shape the practice into what it is today, and his influence continues to be felt in the care we provide every day.
